Nasir Uddin

Rahman Nasir Uddin-2Nasir Uddin is a Cultural Anthropologist based in Bangladesh and a Professor of Anthropology at the University of Chittagong. He studied and did research in the University of Dhaka (Bangladesh), Kyoto University (Japan), University of Hull (UK), Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi (India), Ruhr-University Bochum (Germany), VU University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands), The University of Heidelberg (Germany), the London School of Economics (LSE), University of London (UK), School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London (UK), and the University of Oxford (UK). His current research interests include refugee, migration, and statelessness; transborder movement and deterritoriality; indigeneity and identity politics; the state in everyday life; the politics of marginality; (political) Islam and secularism; migration and urbanization; borderlands and border politics; the Chittagong Hill Tracts, the Rohinigya People, and South Asia. He has authored numerous books, book-chapters, peer-reviewed journal articles and edited volumes.
